Call for Nominations for Short-Term Incoming Student Mobility for Traineeships (Erasmus+ KA171)

Karadeniz Technical University is pleased to announce a Call for Nominations for Short-Term Incoming Student Mobility for Traineeships within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Project.

This mobility opportunity aims to promote intercultural learning, academic exchange, and international cooperation among partner institutions.

This short-term traineeship programme aims to provide students with an international academic and professional experience while strengthening cooperation between partner universities.

Short Term Blended Student Mobility For Traineeship (SMP)

The activity consists of the project coordinator and the student who is registered in partner higher education institutions, to carry out a professional training at the host institution.

Students do not attend any courses and do not receive any ECTS credits. Instead, they have professional experience as a trainee in a related field of their study.

The minimum duration for the mobility is 5 days. Mobilities less than 5 days will be ineligible, and all grant is refunded by the beneficiary student. The duration of the mobility may vary depending on the home country. Applicants are therefore advised to consult the table provided within this call for detailed information.

Physical Mobility at Karadeniz Technical University:

APPLICATION INFORMATION

Applications are accepted by the partner institution on behalf of all students who meet the minimum requirements, and the selected main and alternate candidates are nominated to Karadeniz Technical University.

The Traineeship Call is open for all students from the partner institutions and the declared departments in the call.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Be officially enrolled in a partner higher education institution with a valid Inter-Institutional Agreement under Erasmus+ KA171.
• Be registered in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program.
• Have completed at least one academic term at their home institution.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of:
  • 2.20/4.00 for undergraduate students
  • 2.50/4.00 for postgraduate (master’s or doctoral) students
• Be able to demonstrate proficiency B2 in English or Turkish (through a certificate or institutional language exam).

Only the students studying at the available fields can realise their mobilities in the mentioned units.

Applications which fail to comply with the special requirements will be considered ineligible.

• Karadeniz Technical University holds the rights of transferring the quotas between the countries within the same region should the sending universities above fail to publish the call, or no application is received.
• Karadeniz Technical University selection jury holds the right of not accepting a candidate does not appear in the online interview
• Top-up support is included in the grant calculation of the mobilities from Ukraine.

• Mobility days + travel days. Travel day grant is provided as two days in total: one day before the mobility and one day after the mobility. In accordance with the relevant regulations, deductions will be made from the grant of the participants who do not comply with the eligibility rules for travel days.
• Individual support grant (if available: travel days support) + travel support.

The evaluation criteria has been determined by SCU Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator within the scope of the Erasmus+ Handbook for Higher Education Institutions published by the Directorate for

EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye (Turkish National Agency), the Directive of International Relations Office, and Directive of Erasmus Program of the Karadeniz Technical University, Republic of Türkiye.

 SELECTION CRITERIA

The selection will be carried out by Karadeniz Technical University according to the following weighted criteria:

Applicants with disabilities or fewer opportunities (verified by an official medical report) will receive +10 points and may be eligible for additional financial support.

SELECTION and NOTIFICATION

Applications are received by partner institutions, evaluated transparently by a selection committee appointed by the university, and reported to Karadeniz Technical University, which is the project coordinator.

The number of main and alternate candidates specified in the table are subject to a second evaluation by the Karadeniz Technical University Selection Committee.

The second selection process will be conducted by an officially appointed Selection Committee at KTU, ensuring transparency, impartiality, and documentation-based procedures in accordance with the Turkish National Agency Handbook. Click for important considerations when selecting students.

Results will be announced by email to all applicants and shared with the partner institutions.

Selected students will receive an official acceptance letter and further instructions for mobility arrangements.
