Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Visits the University of Illinois Chicago under the Erasmus+ KA171 Programme
Prof. Dr. Sevdegül AYDIN MUNGAN, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Karadeniz Technical University, carried out a staff mobility visit to our Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility partner, University of Illinois Chicago, between 27 and 31 July 2026.
As part of the mobility programme, Prof. Dr. Sevdegül AYDIN MUNGAN also participated in the 2026 Summer HPE (Health Professions Education) Conference, where she had the opportunity to engage with international experts, exchange experiences, and gain insights into current developments and innovative practices in health professions education.
During the visit, a series of meetings were held to further strengthen the academic collaboration between the two institutions. Discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in medical education, health sciences, and future joint research initiatives. In addition, both parties exchanged views on enhancing academic staff and student mobility within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Programme.
Throughout the programme, Prof. Dr. Sevdegül AYDIN MUNGAN had the opportunity to observe the University's education, research, and healthcare infrastructure firsthand. Meetings with academic units also provided valuable insights into best practices and opened new avenues for future collaboration. The outcomes of the visit are expected to further reinforce the existing partnership between the two institutions and contribute to the development of joint educational and research projects.
