Rector's Visit to the Academic Turkish Training Program for International Students

The "Academic Turkish Training" program is organized by the Office of International Student Affairs, operating under the Office of International Relations at our university. The program aims to improve the Turkish grammar proficiency of international students pursuing academic studies, particularly by helping them overcome grammatical challenges encountered during the thesis and dissertation processes.

As part of enabling international students to use Turkish efficiently and accurately in academic settings, the training program covers essential aspects such as spelling rules, punctuation, academic text types and their characteristics, and article writing formats.

Attending the program’s first lecture, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, advised students on handling various situations they may encounter throughout their academic journey. During his conversation with the students, he stated, "Turkish is a language that is culturally very rich. You have chosen to pursue your academic education in Turkish. I am sure you will achieve great success throughout your academic life. Therefore, you should not use Turkish carelessly..."

The training will be conducted by Lecturer Alper KILIÇOĞLU from our university’s Turkish Language Department. It will last a total of eight weeks, consisting of two-hour lessons per week. The program aims to strengthen students’ academic language skills and help them overcome grammar-related obstacles they may encounter during the thesis writing process.
