KTU Department of English Language and Literature, third year students of English Poetry course embarked on a journey full of poetry with the slogan ‘A Ticket to Literature’, a first in the history of KTU. Organising a live programme on KTU Radio, 27 students invited the listeners both to be informed about poetry and to a vast poetry stream. The lecturer of English Poetry course, Assist. Assist. Prof. Dr. Özlem ÇAKMAKOÄžLU and Rümeysa DÜZ, one of the research assistants of the department, the students became the voice of Aziz NESIN, Sabahattin ALÄ°, Attila Ä°LHAN, Cahit Sıtkı TARANCI, Mehmet Akif ERSOY, Abdurrahim and Sezai KARAKOÇ, Orhan Veli KANIK, Nazım Hikmet RAN, Haydar ERGÜLEN and Shakespeare. In addition to the students who performed the poems they wrote themselves, two female students from Kazakhstan, who came to KTUDELL as guests, added colour to the night by reading poems from Abay KUNANBAYOÄžLU and Magcan CUMABAY.
