In our ongoing mission to protect the Black Sea, we had the honor of meeting with our valued stakeholders from the Yomra Fishermen’s Cooperative. This productive session provided a unique opportunity to look beyond the daily catch and delve into the heart of our marine ecosystem.

During our discussion, we explored the critical balance required to maintain a healthy sea, focusing on the species that sustain our local economy and identifying the threats that compromise our biodiversity. A major highlight of the day was introducing the BIOBLACK citizen science application to the cooperative members. By equipping these experienced practitioners with this digital tool, we are empowering them to transform years of professional observation into vital, real-time data for our research.
