Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Baykal Kablan, a faculty member of the Department of Software Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University, participated in the inspiration meeting organized within the scope of the BÄ°GE – Science with Girls for the Future Project and delivered a talk for young women.

The project, carried out in collaboration with Habitat Association and Halkbank, is a comprehensive capacity-building program aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence of young women aged 15–24 in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

During the event, topics such as the role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, career opportunities in engineering, and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration were discussed. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Baykal Kablan emphasized the importance of increasing women’s participation in technology and shared inspiring insights from her academic and professional experience.

The program went beyond technical knowledge transfer by including interactive content designed to improve participants’ problem-solving, innovative thinking, and career planning skills. Inspiration meetings, mentoring activities, and hands-on workshops within the project aim to encourage young women to actively engage in the technology ecosystem.

The active involvement of the Software Engineering Department in such initiatives once again highlights its commitment to societal contribution and technological awareness.
