Our University Rises to 480th Place in the GreenMetric 2025 Ranking

Our University has achieved another significant milestone in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, an international sustainability assessment system. According to the 2025 results, our University rose to 480th place worldwide, marking a major advancement.

In 2023, our University ranked 868th in the same assessment. Advancing 388 places in just two years, we have once again demonstrated our strong performance and steady progress in sustainability on the global stage.

Published for the 15th time in 2025 and featuring participation from 105 countries, the GreenMetric World University Ranking is recognized as one of the most comprehensive sustainability evaluations in higher education.

Strong Improvement in Our University’s Sustainability Performance

The GreenMetric 2025 results indicate that our University has shown substantial improvement across all major categories. The changes in our scores and their percentage increases between 2023 and 2025 are as follows:

  • Infrastructure & Campus Setting: 800 → 975 (22% increase)
  • Energy: 835 → 1425 (71% increase)
  • Waste Management: 825 → 1200 (45% increase)
  • Transportation: 960 → 1413 (47% increase)
  • Water Management: 450 → 688 (53% increase)
  • Education & Research: 685 → 1213 (77% increase)

These improvements highlight our University’s firm commitment to sustainability in critical areas, such as green campus development, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, recycling, transportation infrastructure, and water management.
