Selçuk BAYRAKTAR, who met with students at the talk “National Technology Move” held at our university, was awarded the title of "Honorary Doctorate" with the decision taken at meeting number 342 of KTU Senate.

Board Chairman of BAYKAR, Selçuk Bayraktar attended the talk about the National Technology Move, the Honorary Doctorate Ceremony, and the opening program of the "2023Project Market on Turning Thoughts into Reality" event held at our University. The program held at Osman Turan Culture and Congress Center (OKM) was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, protocol members, academicians, and many students.

Turkish Youth's Confidence is Restored

Addressing the participants at the program, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, highlighted the accomplishments of Selçuk BAYRAKTAR, stating, "Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar has made extraordinary contributions to the development of our defense industry and the Turkish engineering world, not only as an entrepreneur but also as a leader. He has restored the self-confidence of Turkish youth and pioneered technologies that will not only be limited to his achievements in the military field but also benefit the civilian field. His successful works have propelled Türkiye forward in the world arena. With our decision at the Karadeniz Technical University Senate: As a tribute to his interaction and leadership role in society and industry, we are very pleased to award Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar with the title of "Honorary Doctorate."

'They Will Revolutionize the History of World Warfare'

Following the speech made by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, BAYKAR Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk Bayraktar, who met with the students on the OKM stage, made a presentation on "National Technology Move" to those who came to listen to him. Afterwards, BAYRAKTAR explained their activities in detail to the participants, stating that they have developed revolutionary projects, and said: "We have successfully completed the test flight of our unmanned aerial combat aircraft KIZILELMA before the 100th anniversary of our Republic. KIZILELMA also heralds us that it is a game-changer. In a sense, these flights also show how air combat will be in the future. Especially the close flight of KIZILELMA and AKINCI was the first time in the history of world aviation. The world, where babies are slaughtered shamelessly and rampantly, needs these planes and your work, friends, in order for the voice of morality, goodness, and justice to be louder. Bayraktar TB3 and KIZILELMA will revolutionize the world's combat history, just like our UCAVs."

After the speeches, Selçuk Bayraktar was awarded the title of "Honorary Doctorate" in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Mr. Bayraktar received the honorary doctorate certificate from our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı. In return, Selçuk Bayraktar presented a model of our domestic and national UCAV, Bayraktar Akıncı, to our Rector. The organization ended after the opening of the Project Market Ceremony.
