The Republic is the manifestation of the Turkish nation’s centuries-old passion for independence, its will to live freely, and its noble character.

Founded under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Republic of Türkiye was built upon the determination, faith, and patriotism of our nation. It stands as the continuation of a deep-rooted state tradition and a powerful legacy that traces its origins to Malazgirt, the Seljuks, and the Ottomans.

As the inheritors of this legacy, we are firmly committed to keeping a free, strong, honorable, and prosperous Türkiye eternal.

We commemorate with respect and gratitude Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, and the visionary statesmen who built our state. I also express my heartfelt appreciation to our martyrs and veterans, who sacrificed for our independence and future, and to our ancestors, who made these lands our homeland.

As Karadeniz Technical University, we continue to uphold the values entrusted to us by our Republic — nurturing individuals who produce, question, and contribute to society under the guidance of science, reason, and morality. Through our research, development, and innovation-oriented activities, our University continues to support the development goals of our nation and to maintain its role as a leading institution in technology and education.

On the 102nd anniversary of our Republic, our University — inspired by its deep-rooted past and walking confidently toward the future — will continue to serve Türkiye with unwavering dedication to the ideal of raising “Free in Thought, Free in Conscience, and Free in Knowledge” generations.
