Library

Library Services

In May 1986, the departmental libraries located within the faculties and departments of our university's Kanuni Campus were unified under the Directorate of Library and Documentation, forming the Central Library, also known as the "Faik Ahmet Barutçu Library."

The library is organised into two primary divisions: Technical Services comprising the Acquisition Unit, Cataloging Unit, and Movable Property Registration Control Unit, and Reader Services, which includes the Reference Unit, Lending Unit, Periodicals Unit, Osman Turan History Research Library, Theses Room, and Interlibrary Cooperation services.

Beyond these core services, the library's main building offers a variety of study spaces to support student learning. These include a 25-seat Audio/Group Study Room, a 17-seat Accessible Study Room for students with disabilities, and a 23-seat Information Browsing Room for accessing electronic resources.

Disability and Access Services

Disability and Access Services

As one of the nation's oldest higher education institutions, Karadeniz Technical University recognizes the growing participation of students with disabilities in public life and has undertaken significant efforts to create a more inclusive and accessible campus environment.

These initiatives include installing ramps on all pavements and staircases throughout the main campus, as well as equipping departmental buildings with elevators where such facilities were previously unavailable. The primary goal is to ensure that most campus buildings are equipped with ramps and elevators, fostering comfort and accessibility for students with disabilities.
