Karadeniz Technology and Innovation Day: Investor Meetings II Held in Beşikdüzü

Organized in collaboration with our Center and the Board of Directors of the Trabzon Beşikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone, in conjunction with World Intellectual Property Day, and with the support of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Trabzon Technopark, the “Karadeniz Technology and Innovation Day: Investor Meetings II” event was held at the Beşikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone with strong participation from representatives of the business community and public institutions.

Opening remarks at the event were delivered by: Lecturer Emrah AYVAZ, Director of our Center; Zekeriya KALYONCU, Director of the Beşikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone; Erkut ÇELEBİ, President of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, our Rector; and Ferhat VARDAR, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Beşikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone and District Governor of Beşikdüzü. The speeches emphasized the importance of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and university-industry collaboration in regional development.

Organized to strengthen the region’s technology and innovation ecosystem, the event brought together patent-based technologies and technology-focused startups with business representatives and investors. Participants had the opportunity to closely examine innovative solutions with commercialization potential.

As part of the program, 25 innovative technologies developed based on R&D outcomes aimed at solving business challenges across various sectors were showcased, while collaboration-focused one-on-one meetings were held between inventors and industry representatives. Additionally, through investor meetings, entrepreneurs and technology owners had the opportunity to present their projects directly to investors.

In the first of the seminars held during the event, a presentation titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Business World and Opportunities” was delivered by Dr. Ercüment ÖZTÜRK, an assistant professor at Karadeniz Technical University. During the seminar, the application areas of artificial intelligence in the business world, the efficiency advantages it offers to businesses, and potential future opportunities were shared with the participants.

In another seminar session, a presentation titled “KOSGEB Support Programs” was held, featuring KOSGEB SME Specialist Kürşat MAZLUM as the speaker. The seminar provided comprehensive information on the support mechanisms available to entrepreneurs and businesses, as well as the application processes and eligibility criteria for accessing these supports.

As part of World Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated to raise awareness of how innovation, creativity, and intellectual property rights (patents, utility models, trademarks, etc.) shape our world, we organized an event in the Black Sea Region , which contributes to the region’s R&D and innovation capacity, laid the groundwork for developing new partnerships among stakeholder institutions and establishing key connections aimed at regional development.
