On Monday, May 12, we had the pleasure of hosting an important academic event at the MA1 lecture hall, organized by the Department of Industrial Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Vinel from Auburn University, USA, delivered an English-language seminar titled "Explaining and predicting unsafe driving events among commercial truck drivers: lessons learned from observing 20 million driving miles using IoT sensors." Focusing on the safety of commercial vehicle drivers, the seminar presented insights drawn from 20 million miles of IoT-based driving data. Dr. Vinel shared his findings on identifying unsafe driving behaviors and discussed strategies for their prevention.

The event was met with great interest by both students and faculty members. After the seminar, our Department Chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Avni ES, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Vinel and presented him with a Trabzonspor jersey as a memorable gift representing our city and university.
