The spring sampling phase of our EU-supported project focusing on investigating plastic pollution and developing management strategies in the Çoruh Basin and the ÇaÄŸlayan-Arılı Valleys has just begun. The sampling study, which included the participation of academics from Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, was conducted in the ÇaÄŸlayan Valley of Fındıklı, Rize. Prof. Dr. Kadir Seyhan, the Project Coordinator from the Karadeniz Technical University CARESEA Research Group, stated: "I can say that our region is relatively clean. We will share the data on plastic and heavy metal pollution with the local community in the coming period." As known, the project will last for 2 years.
