Karadeniz Technical University, Civil Engineering Department, Program Educational Objectives:
PEO I. To demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to work as technical personnel in public institutions that operate in the fundamental fields of civil engineering.
PEO II. To work as a project engineer in national and international private organizations, or to work in the field of construction site engineering and manage operations accordingly.
PEO III. To possess the knowledge and skills necessary for personal development, to ensure the development of the institution they belong to, and to have the ability to manage incoming issues.
PEO IV. To work as an academic at domestic or international universities accredited at the bachelor's level, or to serve as an academician at universities.
Graduates are expected to develop competencies in these areas.
56 of our 165 graduates, who graduated from our department in different years and are registered in our communication system, participated in the most recent online survey. 26.8% of the participants graduated in 2021, 32.1% in 2022, 10.7% in 2023, and 30.4% in 2024. As can be understood from this, all participants graduated within the last 5 years. According to the results of this study conducted as of the end of 2024, it is observed that 53.6% of our graduates (42.9% domestic, 10.7% international) work in the private sector and 8.9% work in the public sector based on their fields of activity. 3.6% of the participants stated that they run their own business, and 7.1% serve as academicians. When the postgraduate education status of the participants after graduation was evaluated, 39.2% stated that they did not pursue postgraduate education, 30.4% received or are receiving postgraduate education at KTÜ, and 8.9% at a different university in Turkey. When the job finding duration of the participants after graduation was evaluated, 46.4% stated that they found a job within six months.
