Health Services in Campus

The primary healthcare services offered at the Medico-Social Center are available to our university's students, as well as academic and administrative staff. In addition, healthcare services for students, academic, and administrative staff are provided by the Social Security Institution in accordance with Law No. 5510. In cases requiring advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures, referrals to relevant institutions are made. In situations requiring emergency medical intervention, emergency healthcare services are provided without questioning eligibility for service. Additionally, there is a health office available for students, academic, and administrative staff. The health office provides services such as necessary emergency medical treatments and first aid, treatments prescribed in writing by the attending physician (except in emergencies), dressing, injection applications, and nursing services like blood pressure and temperature measurements.

Useful Institutions and Organizations

Emergency Action Plan

For any serious health emergency, police, fire services, or other urgent situations, call the national emergency helpline at 112. This service is available 24/7 across Türkiye.

Emergency Assembly Points
Emergency assembly points are designated safe areas for individuals during major emergencies, such as floods or earthquakes. It?s a good idea to familiarize yourself with your nearest assembly point ahead of time. You can find the closest emergency assembly points by entering your city, district, neighborhood, and street at: https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/afet-ve-acil-durum-yonetimi-acil-toplanma-alani-sorgulama. The site will provide you with the location and a map of the assembly points.

Emergency Apps
Here are some helpful apps for emergencies:

  • 112 Acil Yardım Butonu: This app connects you to national health emergency services (112) and shares your location. It requires an E-nabız password, which you can obtain through your E-Devlet profile.
  • AKUT Güvendeyim (IamSafe): Developed by the Search and Rescue Association (AKUT), this app allows you to send an SMS to your emergency contacts with your location at the press of a button. The default message says ?I am safe,? but you can customize it. This helps notify your loved ones without clogging phone lines during disasters, ensuring emergency services can be accessed more easily. The app works in natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and fires, even if phone or internet coverage is unavailable.

Note: Türkiye is located in an earthquake-prone zone. It is recommended to prepare an earthquake emergency kit, which should include basic supplies like water, food, medications (if applicable), and other essentials that can sustain you and your loved ones for several days in case of a major disaster.
