Karadeniz Technical University is among the partners of the IASON (BSB-1121) Project, which is carried out under the EU-funded CBC Interreg Program. The project’s progress meeting was held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Full Name: Invasive Alien Species Observatory and Network Development for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts in Black Sea Deltaic Protected Areas
Scope: Conducting joint monitoring and assessment studies on Invasive Alien Species (IAS) in the Black Sea deltaic ecosystems

Project Objectives and Expected Outcomes

Establishing a joint network for the detection and monitoring of Invasive Alien Species (IAS)
Assessing the impacts of climate change on Black Sea delta ecosystems
Improving interregional environmental monitoring processes and enhancing data sharing
Developing an IAS observatory and data network using advanced information technologies (ICT)
Conducting awareness and communication activities involving education, policymakers, and local communities
