The KTU Computing Team, consisting of our students Efekan Çakır, Toprak Ekin Yüksel, and Mete Gökhan, who continue their work under the supervision of Dr. Merve Yıldırım from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, achieved a remarkable success on the international stage at the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026, organized by the China-based technology company Huawei. After winning the Grand Prize and becoming European Champions with their outstanding performance in the European Final, the team went on to secure Third Place in the World at the Global Final held in Shenzhen, China, proudly representing both Karadeniz Technical University and Türkiye.

This year’s Huawei ICT Competition brought together more than 220,000 students and educators from over 2,000 universities across more than 100 countries. During the Global Final stage, teams demonstrated their knowledge, problem-solving abilities, time management, and teamwork skills through an intensive eight-hour hands-on laboratory examination based on real-world scenarios. Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious information and communication technology competitions in the world, this achievement once again highlighted KTÜ’s academic and technological excellence on the international stage. Adnan Hayal, Consul General of Türkiye in Guangzhou, who attended the Global Final award ceremony, also congratulated the KTU Computing Team on their success.
