KTU Hosted the Turkish Aerospace President Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil in the BKS'24 Week
As part of the Science, Culture, and Arts Week 2024, our university hosted a significant program focused on the future of the aviation and space sector. The students of our university had the opportunity to listen to Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, the President of Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAÅž), discuss 'Türkiye's Aerospace Vision'.
The 'Türkiye's Aerospace Vision' program, held during the Science, Culture, and Arts Week 2024 events, took place at the Atatürk Cultural Center. Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, the General Manager of TUSAÅž, participated as a speaker.
The program at Karadeniz Technical University's (KTÜ) Atatürk Cultural Center was attended by TUSAÅž President Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, our University's Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Akif Cinel and Prof. Dr. Cemil Rakıcı, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Er, as well as our university's academic and administrative staff and numerous students.
The event began with a performance of Trabzon regional folk dances by KTU's Fine Arts Department in front of the Atatürk Cultural Center. At the stands displaying the projects that achieved success in Teknofest competitions, our students informed the TUSAÅž President about their projects.
Our university's Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı made the opening remarks. In his speech, the Rector stated: "We have gathered to discuss the future of Türkiye's aerospace sector and strengthen our vision in this field. We are very pleased to host Mr. Temel Kotil, the President of TUSAÅž, one of the leading organizations in Türkiye's aerospace industry. Meeting with prominent figures in the sector will be an important step for our students' careers."
During the program titled “Aerospace Vision”, TUSAÅž President Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil highlighted TUSAÅž's international successes and its significant position in the sector, emphasizing Türkiye's advancements in the aviation and defense industries. Prof. Dr. KOTİL particularly underscored TUSAÅž's capability to produce quickly, attributing this success to the country's youth: “Our greatest advantage as a country is our youth. If you can bring young people together and provide them with opportunities, they create revolutions, resulting in the emergence of the 5th generation Kaan.” He emphasized the critical role of young people in TUSAÅž's projects, noting that their innovative ideas and technical skills are key to the company's successful initiatives. Highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence, Prof. Dr. Kotil encouraged the youth: “Work hard for the future, please learn artificial intelligence.”
During the Q&A session of the program, Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil sincerely answered questions from the participants. He provided significant insights into TUSAÅž's strategic goals and recruitment processes, reminding the students to focus on their careers and to work with determination and belief to achieve their goals.
Participants had the opportunity to gain detailed information about the future vision of Türkiye's aerospace and defense sector, thanks to the impactful presentation and genuine engagement of TUSAÅž President Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil.
At the end of the event, Trabzon Governor Aziz Yıldırım and our Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı presented a gift to TUSAÅž President Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil. The program concluded with a group photo of all attendees.
