KTU Took Part in QUEST Project Activities in Thessaloniki
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, together with our Vice Rector for Research and Development, Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk URSAVAÅž, the Director of the Technology Transfer Application and Research Center, Lecturer Emrah AYVAZ, and the center staff, attended a series of events held in Thessaloniki, Greece, within the framework of the Quadruple Helix-Based Enhancement of Stakeholders at Black Sea Territory (QUEST) Project. The project is implemented under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, in which our university takes part as a project partner.
The program, hosted by ANATOLIKI S.A. (Organization for Local Development), was attended by the Project Coordinator, Erkut ÇELEBİ, Chairman of the Board of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TTSO), along with the TTSO project team, as well as representatives from other project partners, including the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (UBBSLA) and ANATOLIKI S.A. The program commenced with opening speeches delivered by institutional representatives and continued with the presentation of commemorative gifts.
During the event, which fostered inter-institutional interaction, the objectives and expected outcomes of the QUEST Project, as well as opportunities for collaboration among different institutions, were discussed. In the experience-sharing sessions that followed, various meetings were held among project partners to enhance existing collaborations and to create new opportunities for cooperation.
As part of the program, a visit was also paid to the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Thessaloniki, where a meeting was held with Consul General Serkan GEDİK. During the visit, evaluations were made regarding project activities and international cooperation opportunities, and a commemorative plaque was presented.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI, emphasized that these meetings are of great importance in strengthening cooperation among the business world, higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and public institutions. He also noted that such international projects not only enhance academic productivity but also contribute to sustainable development through multi-stakeholder collaboration, further advancing our university’s vision of internationalization.a
