In KTU Engineering Faculty, Civil Engineering Department, Structural Health Monitoring Laboratory; The project titled "Development of Innovative Materials for Fire Safety of Composite Structures Before or After Earthquake", which has been going on for 2 years, was carried out under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Can ALTUNIŞIK and Prof. Dr. Süleyman ADANUR within the scope of cooperation between KTU and "University of California Irvine".

Within the scope of the project, nearly 200 samples were produced and the experiments were successfully completed. Coming to our university to carry out the project approval tests, Prof. Ayman S. MOSALLAM (University of California Irvine) Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah visited ÇUVALCI in his office. Within the scope of the visit, the international accreditation of our laboratory and the cooperation planned to be continued in the future were discussed. prof. Ayman S. MOSALLAM gave a seminar titled “Towards Green Housing in Turkey” to the students in the Civil Engineering Department to raise awareness on sustainability.
