Our University Has Left Its Mark in the QS World Rankings: We Are Among the World’s Universities!

In the QS World University Rankings, where universities are assessed based on multidimensional performance indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, faculty-to-student ratio, international faculty ratio, international student ratio, international research network, employment outcomes, and sustainability, approximately 8,000 higher education institutions worldwide were evaluated this year, while only around 1,500 universities were included in the global rankings.

In addition to the Turkish higher education institutions already represented in the rankings, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) was the only new university from Türkiye to successfully complete the evaluation process and enter the QS World Rankings.

In the assessments, our University achieved:

• A position in the 701+ band in the International Recognition category,
• A position in the 801+ band in the Research Publications and Citation Performance category.

With this significant achievement, our University ranked 22^nd among the 25 Turkish higher education institutions included in the QS World Rankings. It demonstrated particularly strong performance in indicators such as the international student ratio, faculty-to-student ratio, employment outcomes, and international research network.

Expressing his thoughts on this important result, which reflects our University’s efforts to enhance its research capacity, expand international collaborations, and strengthen its global visibility, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, stated: “As one of Türkiye’s designated Research Universities, our University places great importance on research and the development of a strong research culture.
